How do I backup my site? (Hosting customers) Print

Your store is backed up automatically on the server between 12-4am Eastern Standard Time (EST).

Overview - hosting customers:
A full backup will backup all files needed to restore your account if it is corrupted, deleted, or moved to another server. Generating a full backup and saving it to a remote location can be a very safe move in case of problems with your account.

Steps
1. Log in to cPanel and click on Backup.
2. Click on Generate/Download a Full Backup
3. Select the destination you wish to save the backup to from the drop box next to Backup Destination. We suggest using Home Directory.
4. (Optional) Enter your email address in the field next to Email Address. An email will be sent to this address when the backup is completed. That's only if you want an email notification (it's not necessary). Otherwise, choose "Do not send email notification of backup completion."
5. If you are backing up to a remote server, place the server's name, your username, and your password on that server in the appropriate fields.
6. Click on Generate Backup to start the backup process. Click to go back and keep refreshing that page every few seconds.
7. Once the link of the backup turns blue, it means it has completed. You may now click on it to download it.
8. If you backed it up to the local server, don't forget that a backup uses your storage space. After downloading the backup, please delete that backup from the server, which is usually found in the root of your server files in cPanel > File Manager, right outside of public_html.

Alternatively, you can use the other backup features in cPanel, like Backup Wizard.
