This tutorial assumes that you are logged in to the admin area.

Add FAQs to your website

  1. First, you must create a category(ies). Navigate to Information > FAQ > FAQ Categories
  2. Create your categories.
  3. Navigate to Information > FAQ > FAQs.
  4. Create your frequently asked questions. Make sure to select a category in the Specifics tab for each FAQ.
  5. Navigate to Design > Blocks, activate FAQ Category, and then click on the options icon. This step is only necessary if you want to display the categories and search bar on your website. If not, then skip to step 7.
  6. Change the Status to Enabled and choose whether you want the search bar enabled or disabled, which adds a search bar above the categories to let you search for FAQs.
  7. In Design > Blocks, activate FAQ, and click the add new button.
  8. Enter a Block name, select the category(ies), the limit of FAQs, and set the Status to Enabled.
  9. Navigate to Design > Theme Settings > Layouts Builder. Select your Layout (Home, Category, etc.).
  10. Drag the FAQ Category (if you have enabled it) and FAQ block(s) from the left to the right to your desired section.
  11. Save and you're done!

You can also have a product display FAQs in a tab (next to Reviews)

  1. Navigate to Products > View Products.
  2. Find a product and edit it.
  3. Click on the tab "FAQ Category".
  4. Select a category and save.
  5. You will now see a new tab called FAQs in that product. It will display the FAQs that are part of the category selected.

Display all FAQs

Here is how you can display all the FAQs, category, and search bar visible on one page:

  1. Copy this relative path: index.php?route=faq/faq
  2. Add it to your website's URL after the forward slash, in this way: https://www.example.com/index.php?route=faq/faq - You will then be able to view your all-in-one FAQ page.
  3. You can also add it to your main menu. Navigate to Design > Mega Menu.
  4. Add a new menu item. Type in a title. In the URL field, paste this and then save: index.php?route=faq/faq
  5. You can do the same with Footer Menus.
  6. To add the Category and Search to that page (you can also add them as a sidebar on the left and have the FAQs on the right), navigate to Design > Layouts Manager. This step is only necessary if you do not have an FAQs Layout already created. If you have an FAQs Layout already created, skip to step 11.
  7. Click the Add New button.
  8. Add a Layout Name, FAQs.
  9. Click the + icon and under route, type faq/faq.
  10. Click the + icon again to add another. Under route, type faq/faqgroup.
  11. Click the green save button that has a floppy disk icon.
  12. Navigate to Design > Theme Settings > Layouts Builder. Select the layout FAQs.
  13. Drag the FAQ Category block from the left to a section on the right, e.g., Column Left.
  14. Save and visit your all-in-one FAQ page as in step 2.

Give an SEO-friendly URL to the all-in-one FAQ page

We'll show you how to change that long and confusing path (/index.php?route=faq/faq) to a shorter, cleaner path (e.g., /faqs).

  1. Navigate to Tools > SEO URLs.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom and in the left field, enter faq/faq
  3. In the right field, enter your desired URL, e.g., FAQs or faqs.
  4. Scroll all the way up and save.
  5. From now on, every time someone goes to index.php?route=faq/faq, they will be redirected to your new URL, e.g., www.example.com/faqs. You can also link to that from now on.
