After your site goes live you will need to start promoting your website.

Here is a checklist of things you can be doing and some extra resources you can use:

  1. Set up an account with Google Analytics and link it to your store
  2. Set up an account with Google Search Console (formerly Google Webmaster Tools) and link it to your store

  3. Google doesn't instantly know about your website. You need to submit your website to Google so it knows about your site. Submitting your site to directories that Google indexes can also help speed up you getting indexed in Google. Try searching in Google for "Google Webmaster Academy" and there's lots of useful help for you there.
  4. Start submitting your website to Australian business website directories.
  5. Build authority in your particular industry and encourage other businesses to link to your site as THE place to buy your products. You need to establish a reputation through industry contacts linking back to you, suppliers recommending you as a distributor/retailer etc or publishing information on your site and elsewhere that encourages people to link to you or recommend you. You can use Facebook as a publishing medium to do this for example.
